REVOLUTION OS tells the inside story of the hackers who rebelled
against the proprietary software model and Microsoft to create
GNU/Linux and the Open Source movement.

In
1981 IBM decided to "open the architecture" of its Personal Computer
and so made possible for third party industries to start cloning it.
Thus the particular architecture, from a patent of a company, became
the standard in the computers industry , so that the "closed architecture" of Apple computers lost a tremendous amount of market share. Even today only Apple can manufacture Mac's.
In
a same way, the "open source" is a revolutionary model of software
engineering against the patented "closed source" models software's
created by companies like Microsoft.
